Announcing, Rockin’ for a Miracle series at Pearl Street Grill & Brewery
Most Western New Yorkers don’t know about it yet, but a miracle took place on Grand Island in 2011 – in an amazingly brief period of time, the Miracle League of Western New York went from conception to fruition, fueled by the principle that Every Child Deserves a Chance to Play Baseball. Beginning Saturday, January 21st, and continuing monthly at Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, Buffalo musicians are supporting the cause by Rockin’ for a Miracle.
The January kickoff for the series features a double bill of the white-hot Albrights and wild-card Joker’s Son, each performing a set on Pearl Street’s first floor stage (76 Pearl St, 9:30pm, $4 cover, all ages) and setting a diverse tone for the term “rockin’.” The series continues February 3rd as Jony James Band brings the blues to the downtown brewery; Alison Pipitone Band slaps souls on sleeves on March 10th; and Andrew J. Reimers’ Country-Punk Extravaganza rowdies up the room on April 5th. Miracle League representatives will be on-hand each night sharing the glory of building a literally level playing field for children with special needs, with a raffle and partial proceeds from the cover charge benefiting the cause.
“There are few moments more emotional and fulfilling than helping a child with special needs hit a homerun as his or her cheering family witnesses a scene they thought they’d never see,” said The Good Neighborhood founder Seamus Gallivan. “I’ve worked with Miracle Leagues in three cities now, and Western New York got its field built the fastest. It’s a testament to our caring community, and we’re going to testify to the glory of the Miracle League while toasting to some great tunes.”
