Song of the Day – Robot Holiday, “Before the Snow Flies”

We had so much fun and got such a great response at this past Saturday’s first Snow Shovel Squad call that it seemed right to do it again right away, especially with more snow still flying around – this time moving from the West Side around Sweetness 7 Cafe to the East Side around the Broadway Market, meeting in the front of the market at noon and taking it to the surrounding streets.

I’ll admit, it didn’t feel quite right to receive so much media coverage for such a small feat – at best we had 10 people shoveling on Saturday, not bad for 17 hours notice but arguably not worthy of being covered by four local outlets. The Buffalo News and YNN scooped the story off of the Facebook announcement; realizing then what a layup feature it would be for TV stations seeking snow-related stories, I emailed WGRZ 2, WIVB 4, and WKBW 7 before heading out to shovel, and sure enough the first two nearly beat me there.

I appreciate their attention, though – hopefully it’ll bring more folks to today’s snow squad call – for the sake of flash mob fun, fitness, and being Good Neighbors, let’s clear a path for more folks to make their way around “Before the Snow Flies” again – take it away, Robot Holiday, with this song featuring on all vocals and instruments Joe Rozler aka Hussalonia!
