Today/tonight at the Tudor Lounge (335 Franklin St, 4pm-?), a five-band bill featuring friends of Jony James Band drummer Kent “Boom Boom” Leech will play for the benefit of their boisterous buddy Boom Boom, who’s on the DL for a spell after a successful surgery last week. 3 of a Kind, JJ White & Jeremy Keys of the Blues Hounds, members of Dive House Union led by birthday boy David Michael Miller, Willie Haddath Band, Jim Candytree & Chris Benbenek from Super Killer Robots, and host Jony James Band with guest Dave Constantino will all perform and likely welcome a few surprise guests; admission is a $10 suggestion donation for Boom Boom, and there’ll be raffles throughout the event.
Anyone who wishes to help Boom Boom without attending the event can send a check payable to Kent Leech to: JONY JAMES BAND, P.O. BOX 215, SOUTH WALES, NY 14139. A little love for a friend in need, true to the “Golden Rule” – with a little help from his friends, the Boom will be back soon.
